In the course of a normal week, I’m sent mail shots, press releases, marketing communications, promos and announcements from a variety of PR companies and record labels. The reality is I don’t have time or resources to make videos about everything because there’s a lot. But I also fear that some useful tidbits might be slipping through the cracks so I’m going to gather the headlines together in a blog post once a week in order that you might get some value from it. You may already be getting this info in your own inboxes but you can always just ignore this!
Witherfall
First up is Withfall. Los Angeles-based dark melodic metal outfit Witherfall are proud to present their new single, a reimagining of the Aerosmith song “Kings and Queens”, taken from their upcoming album “Sounds Of The Forgotten” (out May 31st). With “Kings and Queens” Steven Tyler, Joe Perry, Brad Whitford, Tom Hamilton and Joey Kramer crafted a very early entry into the echelons of Dark Melodic Metal.
KISS
Following their successful “End Of The Road Tour” in 2023, KISS are thrilled to announce the 40th anniversary super deluxe edition of their tenth studio album “Creatures Of The Night”, released in the UK by UMR on 26th April 2024.
Initially released in 1982, “Creatures Of The Night” is widely regarded as one of the heaviest records KISS has ever made and the 40thanniversary super deluxe edition promises to be heavy on surprises and hidden gems as well.
The 40th anniversary edition will come in two main versions: 9 LP + Blu-Ray Audio Black Vinyl & Glow In The Dark Vinyl Versions (limited to 2,000 copies globally) and 9 LP + Blu-Ray Glow In The Dark Vinyl (limited to 1,000 copies globally).
OU
Chinese progressive metal band OU (pronunciation: “O”) have today (26.4.24) released their new album, 蘇醒 II: Frailty on InsideOutMusic. The album was co-produced and mixed by Devin Townsend. To coincide with the release the band have now shared the video for their newest and most vulnerable visual offering “輪迴 Reborn” which you can watch here.
Kaipa
Sweden-born, folkloric progressive rock band Kaipa proudly announce their new album Sommargryningsljus. 49 years after the release of their debut album, the band is set to reveal the 15th longplayer of their musical journey, Sommargryningsljus, which will be released via InsideOutMusic on June 28th, 2024. Maybeshewill
Maybeshewill celebrate a decade of their ‘Fair Youth’ album with a brand new 10th anniversary edition, available on the 3rd May 2024 (Superball). Released as a special limited edition opaque hot pink & black marbled LP, as well as digitally, this version has been newly remixed & remastered by the bands own Jamie Ward.
Jamie Ward comments of the new mix & master: “With 10 years more mixing experience under my belt I feel a bit better placed to conquer the wall of sound and get a little more separation between the instruments to really bring out the details of those arrangements. In general I’ve tried to make things hit a little harder and be bit a more vibrant and technicolour.”

Haken
Progressive metal band HAKEN are pleased to announce they will bring their special ‘An Evening With’ tour to the UK & Europe in September 2024.
Kicking off on the 4th September in Finland, the band will be performing the entirety of their acclaimed newest album Fauna, as well as other tracks from across the band’s career.
The band comment: “We’ve been wanting to give the European fans a full-length show for a while now, so we are really excited to be bringing ‘An Evening with Haken’ to the continent in September. We had such a blast with this format in North America earlier this year, and we can’t wait to do it all over again. Haken music all night, including Fauna in full and hours of other music from our discography!”

Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS are pleased to announce the coming of their new, 8th studio album entitled Melodies Of Atonement to be released in August via InsideOutMusic worldwide.
