#07 – Music That Sounds Like Geography!

When Craig suggested Sólstafir’s album Ótta for me to play on the channel, he knew how much I’d LOVE this record!

I’ll admit, before the record arrived courtesy of my generous benefactor, I’d never heard of them. Worse still, once arrived, I didn’t listen to the record! There was just so much other music to work through, and Craig made it very clear this was a gift to be enjoyed at my own leisure. I’m often slow to listen to new music on my to-do-list but this one had been in the collection since May 2022. Far too long!

The music sounds like the picture above. Strange to believe as that might be, the music actually sounds like wild and bleak landscapes of Iceland. It’s quite a feat!

This is some of the bleakest, most atmospheric music I’ve ever heard. It’s not something I want to hear everyday, but I’m very glad I have heard it now!
