Hello my fellow music adventurers. This has been a quieter week than usual on the channel due to me trying to resolve an online hacking of my Facebook account. I’ve sadly lost my original account and profile comprising 16 years of messages, photos, updates and friends.
I’ve also lost the Astounding Sounds Amazing Music Facebook group that we shared stories and music on. I have managed to register with a different email address and am back as Jim Newstead on FaceBook, ready to find groups, people, friends and general nonsense all over again!
Tool – 10,000 Days
Tool’s fourth album was the subject of this week’s full album play through, courtesy of Brian Schlamp. Although I have heard many of the tracks on here previously on the channel, most of them I’ve not heard again since originally reacting to them 5 or 6 years ago. It’s fair to say that this record has aged well, and my appreciation has grown as I anticipate the ebb and flow of the music. Wings For Marie is as devastating now as it was when I first heard it.

Diane says of this selection: “I found a best of Santana CD in a bargain bin at a department store. I of course knew of their radio songs but nothing deeper. As I get older my appreciation for fine music gets wider. Also having so many choices at my fingertips is advantageous…. I picked 4 songs off the one CD I own. The choice was difficult though!”
